We’ve all been there, you walk into Target expecting to buy something simple, like a new tube of toothpaste, and walk away with hundreds of dollars worth of stuff. At this point, impulse shopping at Target seems completely inevitable, but what if we’d only done one? a bit some prep work to make sure we really get the items we need? As far as I’m concerned, this summer’s fashion trends are on the “needs” list, so I’ve compiled Target’s best clothes to fit each trend. Consider your cart full and cared for.
Trends this summer are my favorite because they actually are wearable. While some trends, like the micro mini skirt or the nude dress, are super fun to try out in theory, they are difficult to perform in a public setting. I’m ready to show some extra skin when the temperature gets tough, as long as I can comfortably fit into a grocery store or brunch date in my dress. The trends I love this summer are fortunately perfect for both occasions and Target has them all for under $ 50.
I intend to wear the always so elegant oblique dress on any occasion because I know it will make me look And feel good. For the more casual outings, I can’t wait to try the longer Bermuda shorts (hey, if Bella Hadid wears them, so can I) and I know they’ll go perfectly with a casual halter neck top. Read on for my favorite Target picks that fit the rest of the summer trends.
I’m sure we all remember the summer of the underboob trend (because honestly it was a bit traumatizing) and how hard it was to flaunt the look with gusto. I’m happy to announce that this summer’s skin discovery trend is significantly more bearable: the oblique cut. Designers like Cult Gaia introduced the style last summer and it’s finally available at other retailers for a cheaper price. Not only does the angled cut look good on everyone, but it’s also super practical for summer events. Unlike the underboob, an oblique cut is stylish enough to wear to a wedding while still being flirty enough to wear for a night out.
Short-sleeved dress with cut-out
This short-sleeved dress looks like it should be worn in a villa in Italy (but the local happy hour will work too!). I love that the cutouts have adjustable laces so you can fit them around your waist.
Dress with short puff sleeves
The checkered pattern is the quintessential summer model, so it’s the perfect print to match the oblique cut trend. This dress also comes in a solid green color and is available in sizes XS-4X.
The monokini is the sister trend of the oblique cut-out and is waterproof. A thong bikini will always be a classic, but sometimes a summer vacation calls for one declaration-and a monokini will definitely make one. The trend was incredibly popular in Paris Hilton’s glory days and has been resurfaced by fashion icons like Kim Kardashian and Bella Hadid. The style is super flattering and looks cute when worn and around like a leotard. The only drawback is that you will get some weird tan lines.
One-piece swimsuit crossed in front
Monokinis are surprisingly available in all kinds of silhouettes! This crossover option is sporty and chic, which makes it perfect for beach activities.
Side halter cut in one piece
Animal print is another trend that peaks in the summer. This classic monokini has a fun twist with the tiger print motif.
If you want to feel the highest level of warmth with minimal effort, a slip dress is the piece of clothing for you. Slip dresses are the most versatile piece you can add to your summer wardrobe, and Target has so many options at their fingertips. Whether you’re going to a music festival, birthday party or reunion, there’s a slip dress style to suit the occasion. When the peak of summer heat subsides, I love to wear a slip dress over a short or long sleeve t-shirt to keep the fun going all year round.
Slip dress with flounces
This ruffled slip dress (with a very sexy side slit) comes in four color / pattern options and I’m sure you’ll want to get them all.
Green slip dress
As this green slip dress is wider, you can wear it for more casual events. Throw on a black blazer with strappy heels and call it your summer office uniform.
The trend top halter is another blast from the past and I couldn’t be more excited about its return. Halter tops have all the ease of a regular tank top with a raised silhouette. Like a slip dress, a halter top works for many different environments depending on the material, pattern, and style of the halter strap. For a day at the beach, pick up a terry top and for a night out, choose a delicate silk.
Halter neck top
This floral neckline top is begging you to go on your next vacation! The seams under the breasts will help you to support the girls and you will be able to adjust the neck of the tie.
Slim fit textured fitted top
Comfortable and cute go hand in hand with this structured halter top. It comes in four fun colors and comes in sizes XS-4X.
It’s not a fashion until Bella Hadid wears it and, starting last weekend, Bermuda shorts are officially in. Bella Hadid wore a long pair of white Bermuda shorts while she was off duty at the Cannes Film Festival and I’m so excited the trend is actually practical to try. Bermuda shorts come in a range of styles – denim, cargo, and grungy plaid are all fair game. Bermuda shorts are great because they’re super comfortable and don’t involve any anxiety about showing a little too much cheek.
High-waisted Bermuda shorts with wide legs
This pair of casual Bermuda shorts are available in nine (!) Different shades of denim. The loose fit gives them a vintage 90s vibe.
Utility Super High Rise Bermuda
Utility Bermuda shorts remind me of cargo pants (another big summer trend) due to their grungy feel and functional pockets (ladies, you know this is a big plus!). This high-waisted pair comes in three washes and is available in sizes 00-26.
