with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Having introduced Tenoch Huerta Namor to the world, where might the MCU benefit from him next?
Huerta puts in a solid performance as the Sub-Mariner, and fans will no doubt want to see more of him sooner rather than later.
Fortunately, according to an earlier rumor, the Talokan ruler’s fight against Wakanda appears to be just the beginning of Namor’s onscreen journey.
Namur future signs ex
At the beginning of the year, Bleeding Cool reported that they had heard Namor’s debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever I was “to create an upcoming franchise.” Focus on Talocan vs. Hero:
“I’m told that Marvel Studios considers Namor’s appearance in Black Panther 2 to be akin to Black Panther’s appearance in Civil War to creating an upcoming franchise.”
Those rumors cemented the image of Namor as a staple of the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward.
In a separate Total Film article, when asked about the possibility of Namor moving on to other projects or spin-offs, Tenoch Huerta joked: “[he] Wants[s] Bigger contract:
“I hope so! I hope so!! Because I want a bigger necklace! I want more zeros in my necklace! No, I’m kidding. I mean, the legends about Namor are huge. You can be crazy about all this cultural aspect, and you can create a lot of things with Namor, because it takes A great source of stories, mythology, religion and everything. So I hope they decide to continue with the character, beyond her own story or whatever.”
On the red carpet of an event Wakanda forever When asked about the possibility of Namor getting his own movie, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige answered bluntly: We’ll see, it depends [Black Panther]. “
So what are some possible timelines that Namor’s story could branch into?
If Bleeding Cool’s sources are accurate, Marvel is looking to kick off a franchise. What does this mean? Well, that could indicate that the studio wants the character to lead their own projects along with other franchises like Black PantherAnd the oxor ant Man.
These virtual movies will be the best way to explore not only Namor as a character but also Talocan as a whole and her place in the world. How did they handle Thanos’ big snap? How updated are they on global events? Don’t they care about the big heavenly thing that came out of the ocean eternal?
However, the current roster already looks full, so a solo quest might not be the most likely option. Although, there is always a special presentation option such as Werewolf by nightwhich is much easier to squeeze between projects.
While Namor may continue to helm the films, he will almost certainly appear in several projects in the future. But which?
Targeted by lightning
The first option is likely to be directly related to Wakanda forever: The Lightning Movie.
The power-hungry Val, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, has made it clear that she seeks Wakanda. Namely, they seem to want their nation’s supplier of Vibranium.
It is likely that her desires will lead to an escalation of the situation. Perhaps the Thunderbolts serve as a secret weapon to get what you want from Wakanda.
Doing so could start a war with Wakanda, something that could bring Namor and his people into play, given his alliance deal with Shuri. There’s also the possibility that Val’s search for Vibranium could naturally lead her to the Talokan’s doorstep – which isn’t going to go smoothly for anyone involved.
Flirting with the Fantastic Four
In the comics, the Fantastic Four are known for their exploration and discovery of new worlds, people, concepts, and more — it’s their bread and butter.
The odds of them stumbling across the Talokan are extremely high, which is why the team’s next reboot could be the next place the character appears.
Namor also has a fun connection to the team: he’s really into Sue Storm, and his odd, on-and-off flirtation is an interesting dynamic to play with. This is especially true since she also happens to be married to Reed Richards — which is complicated, to say the least.
Besides his adoration for Sue, Namor holds great respect for her as well. In fact, the Invisible Woman may be the key to quenching Namor’s thirst for revenge on the entire world.
2025 Fantastic Four It would definitely be the perfect time for that, given the next few projects that follow. It can make the character a better team player.
Allied with the Avengers
When it comes to Marvel Studios tentpole movies, it’s easy to assume that Namor will be involved in either or both of them, The Avengers: Kang Dynasty or Secret wars. Honestly, it’s likely that almost every Marvel character onscreen will play some sort of role in those proceedings.
However, when it comes to Namor, he’s a big deal. Not only is the mutant extremely powerful, but he also rules over one of the deadliest forces on the planet, aka the Talocan nation.
When Kang the Conqueror comes to Jonathan Majors trying to do his bidding, Namor will not be happy. While Kang will likely make short work of any direct attempts to thwart him, anti-hero Tenoch Huerta will undoubtedly step in, leading him to interact with the wider MCU.
The same applies to Secret wars. While it’s not clear how exactly Marvel Studios will handle the story, it will undoubtedly include Namor. He will likely eventually become a member of the Earth-616 Illuminati, a group of which he is a part in the comics.
Make room for mutations
Wakanda forever He explains that Namor has retained his mutant status in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – something he’s said quite literally by the character himself.
Even after a brief mutant tease at the end Ms. MarvelWell, this revelation doesn’t mean much… yet. But when Marvel decides to spin those wheels and the X-Gene gets more time to shine, Namor will almost certainly be included in more than one future story alongside characters like the X-Men.
As of now, fans have no idea when the fan-favorite group will show their faces. That may not happen until Phase 7, which will be the beginning of a whole new MCU saga.
Namor is here to stay
Tenoch Huerta has done a great job bringing Marvel Comics’ iconic anti-hero to life – a sentiment most moviegoers seem to agree with. Given this reaction and how massive his character is, it’s no surprise that the powers that be want more of a fierce leader in the MCU.
On top of the potentially headlining films, and possible appearances mentioned above, Namor will likely return to Black Panther franchise, assuming a third movie happens.
One fan-favorite idea of the three quel might involve the involvement of Doctor Doom and his fictional nation Latveria – something many had hoped they would play out. Wakanda forever.
However, what needs to be made clear is that Namor is here to stay in some way, shape, or form.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever It is now being shown in theaters all over the world.
