With the MCU reaching the end of Phase IV with Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverWe thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane. So think back to the long past year 2021 when it all started, and let’s sort each Disney+ show into Marvel Phase 4.

Today’s movie

9/9 She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

She-Hulk's Lawyer with Mark Ruffalo
Marvel / Disney

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law It is a fun and unique entry in the MCU. He introduces Tatiana Maslany as the titular She-Hulk hero, whose real name is Jennifer Walters. It also witnesses the return of Mark Ruffalo and Hulk, Jennifer’s cousin. Plus Tim Roth as Emile Blonsky, the hater we haven’t seen since 2008 The structure is incredible. The series introduced a lot of mysterious Marvel characters that we might never have seen outside of a fourth-wall-breaking legal comic like… Strong woman. But where the show fails at the disjointed plot throughout the series and is something She-Hulk herself addresses in the entertaining ending that sees the character bring her narrative interests to Marvel writers and studio head itself, KEVIN Fun Moments make Strong woman An entertaining watch, but unfortunately it ranks 9th on this list.

8/9 What if…?

Wanda, what if...? marvel
Disney +

The first animated entry into the MCU comes in the form of What if…?, retelling classic MCU stories with a new alternative world spin on them. The series reintroduces characters believed long ago from the MCU such as Killmonger and Ultron, albeit in alternate roles, and is one of the last roles of the late great Chadwick Boseman as he reprises his role as Star Lord’s version of T’Challa, a role that posthumously won Boseman. Emmy Award for Creative Arts for his performance. The show gives us an interesting glimpse into the different ways the MCU could have played and even introduces the characters we’ll continue to see in live action, expanding each of the growing Marvel universe.

7/9 The Hawk and the Winter Soldier

Zemo Falcon The Winter Soldier in the Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Disney platform distribution

The Hawk and the Winter Soldier It’s definitely one of the most entertaining Disney+ series in the MCU to date and features Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in a new post-endgame without Steve Rogers, who missed the series but whose fate has not been revealed. The series also sees the return of Captain America alum Baron Zemo and Sharon Carter, who join the cast on a road trip to bring down the terrorist threat known as The Flag Smashers. We also see the introduction of the new Captain America in the form of John Walker, played by Wyatt Russell. A version of Cap dealing with PTSD from his military career and whose emotions take over the series after the death of his friend at the hands of The Flag Smashers. This event in particular leads to one of the most harrowing scenes in MCU history as John Walker stands in front of a man who has just been murdered while blood drips from Captain America’s sacred shield. By the end of the series, it was Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson who took on the mantle of Captain America, complete with a brand new wing of Bucky Barnes and his Wakanda friends. Preparing Maki’s first solo outing as Cap in the future Captain America: New World Order.

6/9 Mrs. Marvell

Iman Villani and Matt Lintz
Disney platform distribution

Mrs. Marvell It is the first and so far the only Disney+ MCU series to show the universe from a teen’s perspective. Similar to how the Spider-Man films explored Peter Parker’s adolescence, Mrs. Marvell Doing the same for Kamala Kahn is in perfect homage to John Hughes that the MCU can offer. The series introduces the first on-screen Muslim superhero, enhancing diversity within the MCU. Mrs. Marvell It also expands the myth and lore of the universe and introduces devices and plot points that are sure to influence our favorite heroes in the future. The series not only succeeds in telling a successful origin story of the hero, but also shows the struggle of being a teenager and balancing responsibilities and love for your family.

5/9 moon knight

Moon Night Stephen and Mark

One of the opportunities Marvel has with the Disney+ platform is the ability to bring more mysterious Marvel characters to the small screen to test the waters of interest to the public. One of these characters is moon knight He appeared in his own series in 2022. A relatively unknown Marvel character with a cultural but frenzied fan base, Moon Knight opens up a whole new world of the MCU, introducing supernatural elements on a scale we haven’t yet seen. The success of this Emmy-winning series can be attributed in part to the suburban cast of Oscar Isaac as he takes on the multiple characters who make up the mind of Mark Specter. Besides the stunning locations and intense fighting scenes, moon knight It feels like a new take on the MCU while keeping the elements we love in the universe.

4/9 hook

Christmastime in the MCU, what a breath of fresh air. hook He reintroduced our favorite vengeful archer, Clint Barton, as he finds himself caught in the middle of a crime ring in New York City alongside his big fan and archer herself, Kate Bishop. The chain was a fun and action packed holiday trip that saw the introduction of Kate Bishop, The Swordsman, Echo and Pizza Dog. While bringing back some fan-favorite MCU characters like Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, and Kingpin from Marvel’s Netflix world, played by returning Vincent D’Onofrio. The series does a great job of allowing Clint Barton to continue the legacy shaped by his friends and former Avengers while also passing on his knowledge to enthusiastic Kate Bishop.

3/9 WandaVision

A scene from WandaVision
Disney platform distribution

WandaVision It more or less kicks off Marvel Phase 4 and does so to resounding effect. The first series carried quite a bit of hype and pressure with it as it served as Marvel’s first Disney+ series, and then set the tone for all series going forward. The show explores the profound impact of trauma and loss through the eyes of the scarlet witch Wanda Maximoff, using numerous sitcom anthologies and candid satire. With a few surprises of Easter eggs and cameos scattered throughout the series, WandaVision Serves as a powerful exploration of characters we’ve only seen snippets on in previous projects while furthering the MCU narrative in the future. Although I still think Mephisto had something to do with it.

A complete homage to classic Universal Monster movies like DraculaAnd the wolf manAnd the FrankensteinAnd the werewolf at night Delivers something new and refreshing. A world we hope to see more of in the future.

Loki on Disney +

Since its introduction in 2011 oxAnd the loki It was a fan favorite among MCU sponsors.
